A deeply sacred resin to the indigenous cultures of the Central and South Americas, Peruvian Black Copal resin incense is perfect for cleansing your aura or environment of negativity.

Black copal is harvested from the forests of Peru under sustainable practices.  It is believed to be a heavenly, sacred extract embodying the presence of the divine.

Black copal is traditionally burnt when seeking divine favour, for purification within the home or as a method of divination whereby Shamans would interpret the smoke. Known also to connect us to deeper levels of our inner spirit, black copal may be used to enhance consecration or rites of initiation, banishings or added to other herbs within incense blends to amplify their energies.

Burn over charcoal tablets or on an oil burner (see picture below).

Using an oil burner releases much more of the true aroma of the resin than charcoal disks and also creates far less smoke. Place a piece of foil in the well of your oil burner and lay a small piece of resin on top; this prevents lots of mess and cleaning after use. Alternatively, pour a small amount of light vegetable oil such as olive or sunflower into the well of your oil burner (depending on the size of your burner, keep the oil under halfway up the well) and place the resin in the oil

Never leave an oil burner un-attended. Keep out of reach of pets and children children.
